View from Mt Ainslie

9th Jan 2015

I captured this parorama from Mt Ainslie with storms approaching, you can see heavy rain approximately 15-20kms in the distance.  The final image is the result of merging five x 36 megapixel images, and some post-processing with Silver Efex Pro 2.

Sony A7R with Sony FE 55mm lens, 1/200s, F5 @ ISO 100

A storm approaches Canberra from the south-west, view toward ANZAC Parade.

For the pixel peepers, here is the full resolution final image for you to drill into.  No apologies, it is 88Mb of download!

Classic R/T Charger

Took this epic dust and burnout storm shot at about 1PM, almost a temporary blackout.

Afterglow fireworks
These firework shots were all camera handheld efforts, ISO640-800, typical exposure was 1/50sec@F2.  The Sony A7R doesn't have any native shake reduction, so I was pleased with how these were rendered.  Post VSCO.
